As a recent returner to the world of web design after a 6 year break, I don’t have a huge number of shiny new sites to show you just yet!
Although you are of course looking at one right now - that’s right, I did indeed create the Daisy Digital website.
(It would have been a poor show if I hadn’t right?)
Also, here’s a website redesign ‘Before and After’ I recently completed for one of my oldest clients, Alex Aiken & Son Ltd in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire:
Aiken & Son was one of my earliest professional websites and was originally designed back in 2004! We overhauled the site last year with some screen resizing and more up-to-date branding and images , and this is the ‘Before’ you see below:

One of the main issues with the old site was that it was written before smart phones, which means there was no need to make it mobile friendly.
Nowadays, all sites need to be responsive to screen size so they are optimised for mobile phones all the way up to large monitors.

What’s New?
Apart from making the new site responsive to screen size, we’ve also given it a more modern style with a less cluttered layout and simpler navigation.
The Home page now benefits from a multi-screen, scrolling page incorporating the previously separate pages. This means there’s now fewer mouse clicks involved and all the important information is available with a quick scroll - perfect for mobile visitors.
We now have a modern Contact Form enabled, much more reliable than the old fashioned email links in the older site.
We also redefined the original logo and created a vector graphic version so it can be rendered at any size, so now they can use in vehicle sign-writing.
